Special Services and Sacraments

Baptism

Baptism is performed during Sunday worship. The United Church of Christ welcomes and encourages baptism of all ages including infants. Contact the church office for more information and to talk with our minister.

Confirmation

The Service of Confirmation takes place during Sunday worship in the spring. Confirmands go through a year long journey exploring their faith and learning about the faith and theology of the United Church of Christ. The classes and opening retreat are led by the minister with other adult leaders and mentors from the congregation. The young people often participate in church life by helping with worship and by offering service to others. Confirmands go through a discernment process to decide if they are ready to confirm their faith and become full adult members of the church in the service of confirmation.

Marriage

Our minister will be happy to talk with couples who wish to be married at Bethesda UCC. We are an “Open and Affirming” church. We welcome people of every race, language, age, gender, ethnicity, economic status, mental or physical ability, and sexual orientation into the full life and ministry of the church. Memorial and Funeral Services

Memorial and funeral services are held to celebrate the life those who have gone before us and to give thanks to God, the Creator, and to affirm the hope we share in Jesus Christ. Please contact the church office for more information or to speak with our minister.
